Authorities have confirmed the body of a missing Butler Twp. man has been found.
The body of 28-year-old Brian Cheatwood, who was reported missing Friday, was located in a densely wooded area off of Jewelstone Drive in Dayton, according to a release from Butler Twp. police.
Cheatwood’s vehicle was located on Secretariat Court on Tuesday, according to the release.
This morning Butler Twp. police launched a search for Cheatwood in the wooded area by the same street with the assistance of Dayton police, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Search and Rescue and Buckeye Search and Rescue.
The death investigation is now with Dayton police and the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
The search team looking for the whereabouts of a missing Butler Twp. man found a body this afternoon behind some apartments in the 3000 block of Jewelstone Drive.
Dayton and Butler Twp. police are on scene along with a Montgomery County coroner’s investigator.
The agencies were working together in the search for 28-year-old Brian Cheatwood, who was reportedly suicidal when he was reported missing from his Butler Twp. home on Friday.
The search started this morning on Secretariat Court where police said Cheatwood’s vehicle was found.

Police in Butler Twp. are being assisted by Buckeye Search and Rescue Dogs in an active search effort this morning to find a man reported missing on Friday who may be suicidal.
Brian Cheatwood, 28, was reported missing Friday morning from a home on Haverstraw Avenue, according to the Butler Twp. police report.
Cheatwood had been dealing with “personal issues” and insinuated that he was suicidal, according to the report.
Cheatwood’s vehicle — a 2002 Ford Escort — was recovered near where the search started this morning on Secretariat Court, according to the report.
K-9 units and police have gathered near a wooded area on Secretariat Court, a dead-end residential street in north Dayton.
