Stokes County authorities believe they have found the body of a local man reported missing earlier this week. The body, tentatively identified as that of 22-year-old Brandon George Hunter, was found in the wreckage of a 2003 Dodge Neon, off of Brims Grove Road in Pinnacle, down an embankment that was covered in heavy foliage, according to the sheriff's office. A written statement issued by the sheriff's office was unclear as to how long Hunter had been missing. The statement said he was initially reported missing July 14, though the statement said he was last seen on July 15 around 5:30 p.m., leaving Joseph Lane in Pinnacle operating a 2003 Dodge Neon with the same license plate number as the one found on the wrecked vehicle. A flyer distributed this week stated he had been missing since July 13. No one was available at the sheriff's office to explain the discrepancies. The statement said family and emergency personnel had been searching for him for several days when they discovered the wreckage shortly after 9:30 this morning. Positive identification of the body is pending an autopsy, and the wreck is being investigate by the North Carolina Highway Patrol. www.thestokesnews.com/news/home_top/2324536/Body-found-in-wrecked-believe-to-be-of-missing-man
