Utica, NY -- Utica police are searching for a 9-month-old child who went missing two weeks ago and was reported missing Tuesday after family members asked about his whereabouts. Levon Wameling was reported missing by his father, Jevon Wameling, police said. Jevon Wameling told police that two weeks ago he left his child unattended for a few minutes in front of his home on Jay Street. He realized he was locked out of the house and went around to the back to get inside. When he went back to the front of the house, the child was missing, he said. Levon Wameling was not reported missing until family members asked about the child, police said. Police are interviewing family members and neighbors. They are also talking to the mother of the child who has not been identified. Officials are searching the area around Jay Street. State police and canine units will assist in the search, police said. Officials are asking anyone with information about the child's whereabouts to contact the Utica Police Department at 223-3503. www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2013/06/utica_police_search_for_child.htmlAttachments:
