Local Missing Girl's Case Goes National
The FBI wants to hear from a mystery caller who may have information about a missing teenager, NewsChannel5 reported.
Amanda Berry, 17, disappeared on April 21 after leaving at around 8 p.m. from her job at the Burger King on Lorain Avenue and West 110th Street.
Officials said Berry's mother received a call saying that Berry was OK, but they aren't sure if it was a prank. They are asking the caller to call again.
Berry was last seen wearing a burgundy Burger King shirt with black pants and a black hooded coat.
The teen was supposed to be picked up by a friend and was going to celebrate her birthday that weekend, but she hasn't been seen since.
WEWS said it's believed Berry got into a large white older model car with three men inside.
Meanwhile, Berry's case is going nationwide with help from the Polly Klass organization. Flyers are being handed out and posted nationwide.
Amanda Berry turned 17 Friday.
Her family said she was beaming with excitement about the birthday, waiting for a party in her honor this weekend.
They said Berry headed home from work at the Burger King on Lorain Avenue and West 110th Street at about 8 p.m. Monday. She lives on West 111th Street, just a few blocks away.
Cleveland police said that so far, they have no idea what may have happened to her.
Officials are asking anyone with information to call (216) 623-5118.
