In this fast paced society that we live in where we need to be places in a hurry, for our jobs, getting children to and from school, to and from activities outside the school day, can you be counted on to help others?
Will you be there for a child that is in need of food because their parent isn't home yet.
Will you be there for the man or woman on the street that is in need of food, clothing, and a warm place to lay their heads?
Will you be there for the prostitute who is in need of guidence?
Will you be there for the gay person, who has been turned away from their own family because it doesn't fit into that families plan.
Will you be there for the elderly person who has no family left and so they are alone and in need of compassion and someone to talk to during the lonely times.
Will you be there for a person who is so desperate that they want to end their own lives.
Will you be there for a family who has just lost their home and all their belongs in a fire.
Will you be there for a child who is out roaming the streets with nowhere to go.
Will you be there for an alcoholic who has abused you.
Will you be there for the next person in front of you in line at a grocery store that doesn't have enough money to pay for the things they needed.
Will you be there for an elderly person who isn't able to afford their medications.
Will you be there for someone in jail, for whatever reason they are there, and lend an ear.
If you have said no to any of the above mentioned, then you are not the compassionate human being that you need to be. If you have a problem with any of the above mentioned, you need to ask yourself why. If we are indeed our brothers keeper, none of the above mentioned should be a problem for us.
Whatever or whoever our higher power is, that power should be an extention of who we are. We are not the judge, jury and executioner. However we were placed on this earthly plane is not the important thing, how we act here is. If we continue down the road we are on, we will surely distroy ourselves, our children, our children's children, and our legacy will be one of distruction.
