I have come to realize over the years that my higher power comes in many forms. I am an empath, I am able to read people, circumstances and seem to just know when to do something and when not to. Now, that's not saying that I am always correct, but the majority of the time I seem to be right on. It's been tested and proven in many instances.
I have the ability to understand children, they are the most innocent and I think that's probably why I am able to hone in on their thoughts, and feelings. Animals are the same as children to me, I can understand them. I am able to meet someone in person and know their thoughts, and sometimes even know the words that will come out of their mouths before they speak them. I was able to read my abusive mother like a book. I knew her thoughts, I knew when she would pounce and all I could do was duck and cover.
In many of these missing persons cases that I've gotten into, I can pretty much know which way that law enforcement should go, and when they go in the opposite direction, I become very frustrated. When I think that I know where a missing person could have gone, or where their killer has taken them, and law enforcement goes in circles, it makes me so angry and frustrated that I want to give up or scream. I knew in the Mickey Shunick case that she would be located in a cemetery, and law enforcement went in every direction but the local cemeteries, and I wanted to scream.
We have had Jessica Ridgway, found in pieces, her torso located in a field, we have had Lizz and Lyric two little girls found dead in a park, we have had young women go missing and no one seems to care. We have now had a shooting at a Connecticut elementary school where 20 babies and their leaders shot down and killed. We have witnessed the World Trade Center pierced by planes and come tumbling to the ground.
So, what is your higher power? Who do you go to in these times of trouble? I go to my Christian background, but I also go to mother earth. On this planet, mother earth rules, she rules the seasons, she rules the plants, she grows the grass, she grows the crops, the sun warms us, the moon watches over us. The water sustains us, the Air sustains us and the Fire warms us.
Whatever your higher power is, we need to go to it, ask that it protect us and our families in this troubled time. Our world situation isin't getting any better, our children are now turned inward, some of them have thoughts of desperation, hurt beyond what mere words can express, they are slowly building up walls, and are slowly building up a deep hate that can only come out in horrific ways, just like the latest tragedy that has befallen Connecticut. Our society is to blame for this, parents are sometimes to blame for this because they aren't paying attention to what's going on with their children.
Somewhere, somehow there are answers to all this, we just need to see it, to pay attention to it, to what we are doing or not doing for our children. Let's stop hiding our heads in the sand, and look around us. Stop putting junk and toys before our higher power and our children, and others that need our help. If we don't take hold of this now, there will never be a better time to do so. None of us know when the end will come, it could come in the blink of an eye, in the next breath that we take, or in the next heartbeat.
