I would like to address a few of the comments that I have read on this post tonight. First off, Curious you have it all wrong about my brother confessing to the murder of Lisa Pate. They say she died of asphyxiation on July 3, 1999. It would be hard for him to commit a murder when he was already deceased.
The car accident he was involved in was June 19, 1999. Secondly, let's look at it from your point of view...when someone confesses to a murder, I highly doubt they are able to walk freely as my brother did.
"Lafayette girl" it is true that Brandon Lavergne was not a passenger in my brother's car. According to "I Know Who Did It" Brandon ran my brother's vehicle off the road. How do you know that? Did he have a white truck back then? Did it have Texas plates?
For years, we have not been able to get the truth about the accident. Claire has given so many ridiculous stories that I bet she can not even keep track. She states she wasn't the driver; however, all her injuries seemed to be driver related.
I know this will not bring my brother back, but had my Mom and Dad been able to know the truth and not have to both go to their graves wondering what happened that night would have made it a bit more bearable to lose a child. "Friend" Brandon did not live where the body was found.
My brother did live there up until his death. I, along with my family, went and cleaned out his house and I can reassure you there was NOT a body there. That makes sense because Lisa was murdered after my brother was already deceased. "Hmmm", I think you have spoken the most truth on this topic.
Claire was not my brother's girlfriend. He had much more class than that. She may have helped him a bit finacially as her parents have money which brings up my next point.
"I Don't Understand", yes, there was a police report, in fact, I have a copy. It was botched from the beginning. I went out to the wreck site and proved them wrong on many counts. Two of the three occupants were given drug and alcohol tests, but one escaped without any tests. Can you all guess who? The one who had an uncle on the police force.
Like I said earlier, my brother was no killer and to this day, his killer is still getting all the sympathy she can. As far as his name, it is Kevin Atchison and I say that PROUDLY. I would appreciate it if any of you that may know the truth as to what happended the night of June 19, 1999, please let me know. However, if you want to post things that are so far from the truth, please think twice as you are reopening wounds that still have not healed from 13 years ago. Thank you all for letting me say what I felt needed to be addressed.

we were NEVER told the whole truth about that night.
Just to set the record straight, I am Kevin's sister not brother.
The third person in the car that night was Ellis Slocum. All of this is on the police report.
(Ellis R Slocum was born in 1978. Ellis currently lives in Eunice, Louisiana. Before that, Ellis lived in Mamou, LA from 2004 to 2004)
Let me throw out a question...
Do any of you think it is possible for a person from the back seat of a Diamonte to be able to react quickly enough to throw their leg over the seat and press the brake of the car as it is flipping 5 times?
Maybe, I don't have the longest legs, but that to me seems humanly impossible and not plausible. Like I have said there were so many "stories" as to what happened that I could literally write a book.
In addition, why would someone have to "lawyer up" right after the accident if they didn't feel like they did something wrong?? My family is not sue happy and even told the police to list my brother as the driver (even though he wasn't) so noone would get charged with vehicular manslaughter.
My brother's injuries were not driver related. The driver's injuries were pelvic related, chin related and messed up foot which all stemmed from hitting the steering wheel and having the foot getting caught up in the brake as the car flipped. Unbelievable for someone to torture another's family by withholding the TRUTH. That is all we ever asked for, but to date only have bits and pieces of that night.
I do know one thing, there is a common denominator in all these unanswered deaths. Hopefully, law enforcement won't turn their heads this time or show preferential treatment as it did before.
I am still open to discussion as to the truth of the night of June 19, 1999 or any events that led to that fatal night.
