Timeline for Tara Hawkins' disappearance, murderJACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are hoping the public can help solve Tara Hawkins' murder.
There are several missing pieces in the time she disappeared to when her body was found.
On Friday June 1st, around 10:30 in the morning, a surveillance picture captured Hawkins riding her blue beach cruiser. Later that evening, around 7:15, Hawkins was seen alive for the last time. She left her job as a waitress at the Emperors Gentleman's Club on University Boulevard. Hawkins was riding her bike.
A few days later, on Sunday, June 3rd, Hawkins' uncle in Arkansas reported her missing. He became worried after not hearing from her in several days.
On Wednesday, June 6th, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office took the case to the public. Police released pictures and information about Hawkins.
Several days later, on Sunday, June 10th, a body was discovered behind an office complex on Phillips Highway. It was about two miles away from Hawkins' work. The following day, people living in the area received an automated phone call from JSO.
"This is the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office calling to inform you that we're looking for items belonging to a missing person," said the message.
On Thursday, June 14th, JSO identified the body that was found on Sunday as Tara Hawkins. The medical examiner hasn't determined a cause of death yet but police suspect foul play. They have no suspects in the case and no motive.
"Our understanding is she was a likable woman, she didn't have any enemies," said Lt. Rob Schoonover.
