Body found in pond may be that of Tulsa woman missing since 2006 Tulsa police say the remains found inside a vehicle at the bottom of an east Tulsa retention pond may be those of a woman who disappeared on Valentine's Day, 2006. Shelia Scott, or Sharp, whose age police have given as 46 or 47, was last seen in the company of a man with whom she had a "volatile" relationship, according to the TPD website. The site's missing persons page says, quote, "She was last seen by a married male companion with whom she had a volatile relationship. She was also connected to the drug trade. Her vehicle has never been located. Foul play is suspected." That vehicle, a maroon Ford Expedition, was found in the retention pond near S. 11th St. and Mingo Ave. Friday morning. The story began when a dog swimming in the pond returned to its owner with a shoe; inside the shoe, a foot. That triggered an investigation, which eventually led authorities to drain the pond. They found not one, but two vehicles. The other car, a Honda Accord, turned out to have been stolen. Friday, shortly after noon, police divers realized that they had indeed found additional human remains in the pond. However, no definitive tests have been conducted to prove whether the foot and the other remains belonged to the same person, nor whether any of the remains are actually those of Shelia Sharp. Police spokesman Jason Willingham says it could take weeks, or perhaps months, to put a positive I.D. on the remains and decide whether the person died as the result of foul play. www.krmg.com/news/news/local/body-found-pond-may-be-tulsa-woman-missing-2006/nFPc4/
