Police are searching for a 41-year-old woman who has been missing for more than 36 hours in Wood River, Illinois. Leslie Dona was last heard from by her parents on Sunday night. Dona, Assistant Finance Director for the City of Wood River, did not show up for work on Monday morning and her co-workers claim it is unusual for her to not at least call the office to notify them. Dona has brown hair and stands 5’5” and weighs around 145 pounds. She drives a 2001 dark red Ford Fiesta. Police say there are no signs of foul play. She was seen in a surveillance video withdrawing $300 from an ATM near Mid Rivers Mall in St. Peters on Monday morning. She has not used her ATM or any credit cards since then and her cell phone has been turned off. Police decided to contact the local media on the second day of Dona’s disappearance after she did not contact anyone overnight. Fenton, Missouri (KSDK)-- NewsChannel 5 has confirmed the woman involved in a wild crash along Interstate 44 in southwest St. Louis County Thursday morning is a missing city executive from Wood River who's been missing since Monday. Leslie Dona, 41, lost control of her car around 6:00 a.m. Thursday while driving eastbound on I-44 west of the Meramec River. The car left the highway and drove down and back up one embankment, through a chain link fence and across the south outer road, before going down a second embankment and rolling over into a drainage ditch overgrown with weeds. Witnesses helped rescue crews to identify the location of the vehicle in the overgrown vegetation. Rescue crews then extricated the woman from the wrecked car before transporting her to the hospital with serious injuries. Officials say Dona was first reported missing on Monday after not showing up for work. Eureka police stopped Dona earlier Thursday morning and then realized she was the missing person from Wood River. Investigators say they spoke to Dona while she was detained in Eureka and expressed their concern. Eureka officers released Dona who was then eastbound on I-44 near Fenton when she was involved in the crash.
