Missing Psychic's Family Pleads For Help
Family Says She Was Trying To Leave Husband
A family is pleading for help in finding a missing Fort Collins psychic and her husband, but they don't believe she'll be found alive.
Kathy Adams' family members said she was trying to leave her husband, John Marks Jr., when they both disappeared.
Larimer County investigators won't say what they found in the couple's home to make them suspect foul play, but now family members have flown in from all over the country determined to get answers.
"It's a nightmare. We're all living a nightmare," Debbie Mitchell, Adams' sister, told 7NEWS Sunday.
She flew to Colorado from Pennsylvania to meet up with another sister and two brothers in Fort Collins.
She describes the 57-year-old Adams as the kind, caring older sister who basically raised her.
But, Mitchell added, that during the 20 years Adams was with Marks, she lived in fear.
Last week, Mitchell said, Adams booked a plane ticket to Atlanta.
"She said she was leaving. She said she was leaving him. She had had enough of his abuse and she was leaving," said Mitchell.
But Kathy, who advertised a psychic business at her home, never got on the plane.
She disappeared that weekend, along with her husband.
"Kathy would have called us if she were alive," said Mitchell.
Last week, detectives searched the home, but released little information.
Adams' family members are convinced, though, that Marks knows the answers.
"He has the key to all these unanswered questions. If we find John, we will find Kathy," said Mitchell. "And we want answers. We need to know where she is. We're losing all hope."
7NEWS Reporter Jaclyn Allen spoke to Marks' mother on the phone.
She said she hadn't heard from Marks, but is "praying to God and lighting candles," and then hung up the phone.
Larimer County investigators said they had no new leads in the case, but are still asking anyone with information to contact them at 970-416-198
