Zahra Baker, a 10-year old handicapped girl, is missing, and Hickory, N.C., police are stating that "anything is possible."
Zahra's father, Adam Baker, reported the child missing on Saturday. Hickory police are trying to piece together a timeline.
During a press conference Monday morning, officials said that it is "very unlikely" the child ran away.
Adam Baker appeared on ABC's Good Morning America Monday and did not deny questions that his wife Elisa Baker could be involved in the disappearance.
Elisa was arrested Sunday for charges that include communicating threats, bouncing checks, larceny and driving with a revoked license. She has not yet been connected to the disappearance.
According to Adam Baker, Elisa said that Zahra was asleep in her bed at approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Someone reported a fire in the Bakers' backyard at about 5 a.m. Adam said he was so panicked following the fire that he didn't think to check on Zahra.
"I just hope I can get my daughter back. I miss her so much," he told Good Morning America.
Police and the FBI are sifting through surveillance video from businesses near the family's home. They are also using dogs to scour the neighborhood for clues.
Tom Adkins, Hickory Police Chief, refused to rule out any suspects including Adam Baker. "As the time progresses, we might be able to rule out folks. But right now, every possibility is out there."
Regarding whether he thought his wife was involved, Adam Baker said, "I wouldn't like to think so. On what I've heard so far, it could be possible."
Investigators claim that both parents have "inconsistencies" in their stories, according to Saturday evening interviews conducted with the pair.
Zahra wears a prosthetic leg and is hearing impaired in both ears. Police found what they believe to be her hearing aids at the home when they searched it. They did not find the prosthetic.
Hickory police are set to hold a second press conference at 3 p.m. Monday.
Information on Zahra's whereabouts should be delivered to the Hickory Police Department at 828-328-5551 or by dialing 911
