TUSCALOOSA | It’s been more than two weeks since Lisa Ann Green disappeared.
In that time, there’s been only one development in the case. Green’s family and friends hope there will soon be more.
According to a Tuscaloosa Police Department news release issued Friday, Green’s 2000 Dodge Ram extended cab pickup was found at a business in the 4400 block of University Boulevard East on Aug. 4 by an off-duty TPD investigator.
Police say there have been no additional developments.
“Right now, we just don’t know what the circumstances surrounding her disappearance are," said Capt. Loyd Baker, commander of the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit.
Wendy Beckham, manager at Randall-Reilly Publishing Co. where Green has worked for nearly two years, said her employee had stopped by a bar on Skyland Boulevard East on the Friday of her disappearance.
Beckham said Green had gone to the Vieux Carre Lounge in McFarland Mall to talk to a friend there about helping out with a fundraiser on the following Saturday.
“She went by there for about 10 minutes," Beckham said. “She then called her dad at about 8:20 p.m. and said she was on her way over there to pick up her 13-year-old son, Travis, but she never showed up."
Police say Green was last seen at her apartment complex in the 4800 block of Cypress Creek Avenue at about 5 p.m. that Friday, July 27.
Beckham said Green, described as a 5-foot-2 white female weighing about 110 pounds, had worn dark blue jeans and a white short-sleeved top to work that day.
“Lisa is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met," Beckham said. “She’s full of energy and always, always has a big smile on her face."
“She never complains, she’s never late for work and never calls in," she said. “She’s strictly business."
During her conversations with Green, Beckham said, the 44-year-old single mother of one would often talk about her son and her parents.
“She absolutely loves her mom, her dad and her little boy," Beckham said. “Lisa would never do anything to worry them."
Beckham said Green had just put in for vacation time at work before she disappeared. She was planning to take a trip to Panama City with her son on Aug. 1.
Beckham said she doesn’t understand what happened to her.
“She just vanished," Beckham said. “None of her clothes are missing, none of her money is missing, and her car was found."
“We know she hasn’t gone somewhere," she said. “We know she’s here somewhere and we want to find her. Her mom and dad need her, and her little boy needs some answers."
Mike Reilly, president and CEO of Randall-Reilly Publishing Co., said Thursday that if Green isn’t found soon, he’s going to increase the $1,000 reward he’s offering for information that could lead to her safe return.
Anyone with information about Green’s disappearance or whereabouts is asked to call the Tuscaloosa Police Department at 205-349-2121, Crime Stoppers at 205-752-7867, or the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit at 205-752-0616.
