[glow=red,2,300]Girl's body found Remains recovered from dump[/glow] Investigators in Lubbock believe a search of a landfill this week uncovered the body of a missing girl whose computer showed links to a man with Wichita Falls connections. An exhaustive search of the landfill over the past several weeks uncovered the mummified remains, which included long red hair, an Associated Press article reported. Investigators are still waiting to positively identify the remains, but the hair was one of the clues that make authorities confident this was the body of Joanna Rogers. She was 16 when she disappeared from her home in Lubbock County in May 2004. The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal's Web site reports that the girl was wrapped in the fetal position. "The Rogers family believes that this is Joanna, and that she is finally home," a news section on the Web site www.bringjohome.info reports. Regular updates through the 904 days since Rogers' disappearance detailed search efforts, as well as the family's thoughts. The updated information this week ran alongside of a picture of a smiling, red-haired Rogers. Media reports indicate that the search of the landfill came after authorities found information linking Rogers to Rosendo Rodriguez III, 26. Rodriguez, who is the son of former Wichita Falls attorney Rosendo Rodriguez Jr., grew up in Wichita Falls and graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1998. Rodriguez III already faced a capital murder charge stemming from the beating death of 29-year-old Summer Baldwin when authorities discovered a possible link to Rogers. Baldwin was five weeks pregnant when she died. Her body was in a suitcase about 15 miles north of Lubbock, the Associated Press reported. It was in the same landfill where the body was found this week. The investigation into Baldwin's death showed computer information linking Rogers and Rodriguez. Rodriguez does not face charges in Rogers' death at this time. The Associated Press reported that Rodriguez claimed during a court hearing this month that he did not understand the proceedings surrounding an earlier plea agreement, which offered Rodriguez a life sentence in exchange for a guilty plea in the deaths of Baldwin and Rogers. Prosecutors have taken back that offer and have said they plan to seek the death penalty.
