JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. – For several days, Indiana State Police searched for a couple reported missing by family members in southeast Indiana. They finally discovered what happened to them Tuesday night. Indiana State Police responded to a one-vehicle crash on U.S. 50 near the Jennings-Ripley County line. Police found a man with injuries to his legs. They identified him as Kevin Bell, 39, Dover, Pa. They determined that Bell was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer when he went off the road and crashed on Saturday; the SUV went down an embankment and hit a tree head-on. Police found Nikki K. Reed, 37, Seymour, inside the SUV, which was well off the roadway and not visible from the road. Reed, who was found in the passenger seat, had died from injuries she’d suffered in the wreck. Reed’s family reported her missing on Sunday, Sept. 18, after she went to pick up Bell in Pennsylvania. Bell’s family told police they hadn’t heard from him since Saturday. The crash happened sometime Saturday afternoon. Because of injuries Bell suffered to his legs, he couldn’t get out of the vehicle and crawl back to the road to get help until Tuesday. Bell went to a hospital in North Vernon for treatment. Police said his injuries didn’t appear to be life-threatening. fox59.com/2016/09/21/missing-woman-found-dead-inside-vehicle-3-days-after-crash-in-jennings-county/
