More than two years after she went missing, the body of Fort Bragg soldier Kelli Bordeaux has been found and a suspect has been charged with her murder, police announced Wednesday afternoon. Fayetteville Police said Bordeaux's body was discovered a mile north of I-295 on River Road. ABC affiliate WTVD reports seeing investigators removing evidence from a wooded area. Police said authorities found Bordeaux's body with the help of Nicholas Holbert, a longtime person of interest in this case who has now been charged with first-degree murder in Bordeux's death. Bordeaux was 23 when she disappeared in April 2012 after leaving Froggy Bottoms, a bar in Fayetteville, police said. Holbert, 27, told authorities he gave Bordeaux a ride home from the bar the night she disappeared, according to investigators. Prior to being charged with first-degree murder, Holbert had denied that he had anything to do with her disappearance. After Bordeaux went missing, police and volunteers spent months scouring woods and fields near where Bordeaux was last seen. PFC. Bordeaux was a health service specialist for Fort Bragg's 601st Area Support Medical Company, 261st Multifunctional Medical Battalion, 44th Medical Brigade. Holbert, a registered sex offender, was previously convicted in 2003 of child abuse and indecent liberties with a child, records show. The victim was 5 years old. www.wcti12.com/news/police-body-of-soldier-kelli-bordeaux-found-suspect-charged/25980602
