ST. GABRIEL, La. - A truck belonging to missing LSU student Chris Broussard was found in a waterway by police helicopter Wednesday evening. A body was inside. According to WAFB-TV, St. Gabriel Police Chief Kevin Ambeau said some of the family on the scene made an ID. "We also had ID on the body," he said. Broussard left a party at Bogie's Bar & Grill around 1 a.m. Tuesday, which is near campus, and texted his mother that he was coming to their home in Ascension Parish, the family said. According to the WAFB report, Broussard did not answer his mother's text when he didn't come home by 3 a.m., and he didn't show up for work later that day. Investigators believe he was headed home along LA 30 when the truck hit a guardrail and landed in heavy grass. "We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chris Broussard. We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this time. It is always difficult for the LSU community to lose one of our own and grief counseling services are available to anyone from LSU impacted by this loss," said LSU President and Chancellor F. King Alexander in a statement. www.wwltv.com/news/Report-Family-friends-looking-for--221526321.htmlAttachments:
