Friends of Holly Fischer said late Saturday they plan to meet and search for the missing 39-year-old.
Liz Stafford Ajello told reporters searchers can meet 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the McDonalds on Highway 421 in Wilkesboro, N.C.
Ajello says cell tower information leads them to believe Wilkesboro is Fischer's last known location which is 20 minutes for Fischer's family condo.
Ajello says it appears Fischer drove from Knoxville on Monday traveling on Interstate 40, to Interstate 77 and then Highway 421 North.
Ajello remains hopeful that if friends find Fischer's car they will find Fischer.
Fischer was last seen on May 27, in Newport, Tennessee by her father.
Friday, law enforcement officials from Ashe and Wilkes Counties, along with Ashe County Rescue Squad and fire departments from Glendale Springs and Wilbar, were on scene and assisting with the search. The North Carolina Highway Patrol also sent a search unit via helicopter to search the area.
Thursday, officials from Knoxville, TN, completed a cell tower ping of her cell phone. Her last known location by use of cell phone was in Ashe County on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Sheriff Williams stated that "Getting an exact location of the phone is made more difficult by the rugged terrain."
Friends say she was visiting her parents and was headed back to her home in Charlotte.
Liz Stafford, her best friend since high school, says it's not like Fischer to just take off.
"It's unlike Holly to be--to go off the radar and gone off the radar and gone silent," she insisted. "So we need to find her."
Stafford also told WBTV the key piece of evidence that has them fearing the worst.
"The biggest focus I feel right now is that we need to find her car," she said. "No one has seen her car. Once we find that car, I feel like we're going to find Holly. We know that something has happened to her. We feel someone has kidnapped her or done something or she might have had an accident."
CMPD is working with the Knox County Sheriff's Office, but says the Tennessee agency is taking the lead on the investigation.
While Knox County investigators don't suspect foul play, Fischer's friends are certain something has gone wrong.
Fischer is described as a white female, 39 years old, 5'10", weighing about 140 lbs. She was last seen wearing a white blouse, blue jean shorts, and sandals.
She may be operating a 2004 Silver Infiniti FX35 with NC license plate XYH6678.
If anyone has any information on Fischer's whereabouts, they are asked to call 911 immediately.
