HONOLULU--Police in Hawaii are looking for a Mt. Hood Community College student who went missing in Waikiki Thursday. Ivanice "Ivy" Harris, 29, traveled to Hawaii for her birthday with a group of friends including her boyfriend of eight years. She is a graduate of Jefferson High School. "We talk every single day and I hadn't heard from her, and I sent her a text. I didn't hear back but that's when I got a text from her boyfriend. She was ready to do Hawaii for her birthday today," her mother Patricia Harris told KGW Saturday Harris was last seen speaking with a man outside Kelley O'Neil's bar at 2:15 a.m. She was not seen or heard from since. "I'm just hoping that somebody can tell us anything. I just want her to come home, call, give us something to go from at this point," her sister Ivesha Harris said. Harris' family told KGW Saturday that she has tattoos of a genie in a bottle on her right arm and a heart on her lower back. Harris’ family and friends are very concerned for her safety. Anyone with information was asked to call CrimeStoppers at 808-955-8300. www.kgw.com/news/local/Portland-woman-missing-in-Hawaii-since-Thursday--208018421.html

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are looking for a woman visiting from the mainland who has been missing since early Thursday morning. Police say Ivanice "Ivy" Harris was last seen on May 16 at 2:15 a.m. speaking with an unknown male outside of a bar in Waikiki. Ivy has not been seen or heard from since. Her family and friends are very concerned for her safety and well being. Harris had come to Hawaii from Portland, OR, with a group of friends to celebrate her 29th birthday. The last person to see Harris was her friend Jillian Gibides, who said Harris is like a sister to her. Gibides said they were outside the bar on Lewers Street. "When I had gotten out and came around the cab, I looked back over and didn't see her, so I just figured, okay. She'll just call me when she needs to." However, Harris didn't call. And friends and family said it wasn't like her to do that. "I know her, and I know her well enough that this is not normal," said Gibides. "And on her birthday?" She paused and shook her head. Harris' birthday is Saturday. Harris is described as five feet, three inches tall, weighing 125 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a red-orange, long-sleeved sweater and blue denim long pants. Police are continuing to search for a woman who a friend said worked as an escort and was last seen in Waikiki early Thursday. Ivanice Joruth Harris of Portland, Ore., was expected to celebrate her 29th birthday on Saturday with her friend, Jillian Gibides. Gibides said Monday that Harris kept in touch with her mother daily but hadn’t done so since before Harris was reported missing. Gibides said Harris was in the companionship-for-hire business. It is uncertain whether that might have been a factor in her disappearance. www.staradvertiser.com/news/breaking/20130520_Police_continue_search_for_missing_woman.html

Body discovered near Yokohama Bay identified as missing touristWAIANAE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A visitor from Oregon who vanished five days ago was found dead on the side of a highway near Yokohama Bay. The case is classified as an unattended death as police wait for the Medical Examiner's Office to determine how Ivanice "Ivy" Harris, 29, died. Her family and friends are devastated by the news. Ivan Harris is heartbroken by the death of his younger sister. He had a bad feeling when she suddenly stopped updating her Facebook page during her trip to Hawaii. "She is a Facebook fanatic and when she didn't Facebook anything, I knew something was wrong," said Ivan Harris during a phone interview from Portland. The Portland resident traveled to Hawaii with her friends and boyfriend, Mark Miles, to celebrate her 29th birthday. She was last seen alive on Thursday at 2:15 a.m. talking to an unknown male outside Kelley O'Neil's in Waikiki. After she vanished, those close to her passed out flyers and set up a special Facebook page to spread the word through social media. Then shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Monday night, her body was found in some brush along Farrington Highway just before Yokohama Bay. According to a source, several distinctive tattoos helped lead to her identification. "She's little me and I'll never get that back again," said Ivan Harris. Ivy Harris had worked as an escort for years, according to her brother. "She was in the life, you know. That life. But I don't believe that Mark did anything to her," said Ivan Harris. Her brother suspects that she ran into trouble with a stranger. "She was in a situation that she couldn't get out of," said Ivan Harris. "You mean with a customer or client?" questioned the reporter. "Exactly," Ivan Harris said. Relatives are raising funds to help bring her body home. You can find information on how to donate at a Facebook page called "BRING Ivanice HOME." Honolulu police are urging anyone with information on this case to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300. www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/22308564/womans-body-found-in-brush-near-yokohama-bay
