CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Attorneys who maintain that Orlando "Chico" Morales was wrongfully convicted in 1981 for the kidnapping, rape and murder of a Cleveland 14-year-old girl say this week's charges against Ariel Castro made them ponder possible connections to the old case. Castro is accused of kidnapping and raping three women who have been missing for nearly a decade. He was also charged with kidnapping a 6-year-old who was born in the home. Morales has served more than 30 years in prison and lawyers from the Ohio Public Defender's Wrongful Conviction Project have been working on his case for about four years. "There were so many similarities, that's what piqued our interest," Wrongful Conviction Project Director Joe Bodenhamer said. www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2013/05/attorney_question_possible_con.htmlAttachments:
