Husband arrested in St. Paul woman's disappearance

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The 37-year-old husband of a missing St. Paul woman has been arrested after evidence at the couple's home showed a crime had been committed.

The family of Kira Trevino, 30, says she has been missing since Friday. Her car was found in a Mall of America parking lot. Family members say she works at a store in the mall, but lives in St. Paul.

St. Paul police are not elaborating on the nature of the evidence that has been gathered at the home.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was at the home Trevino shares with her husband and roommate on Monday evening.

The family's search for Kira Trevino continued on Tuesday, when flyers were being passed out.

Six of Kira's family members, from Wisconsin and Texas, were in town also looking for answers. They spent the Monday meeting with investigators.

Police said they recovered a car of a missing Minnesota woman Monday near the mall where she was last seen working, CBS Minneapolis reports.

The family of 30-year-old Kira Trevino told CBS Minneapolis that she was working Thursday night at the Mall of America as a manager at Delia's clothing store and hasn't been heard from since.

Keri Anne Steger said it isn't like her sister to not keep in contact.

"She's got a great work ethic. She's dependable, she's reliable. She's got great love for her family and friends," Steger said.

Mall security noticed Trevino's car on a parking ramp on the west side of the mall at about 4:55 a.m. Monday and called the police, the station reports. Authorities said the car contained "evidence that concerned investigators," but did not elaborate further.

Trevino is originally from Wisconsin, where she graduated from D.C. Everest High School in the Wausau area, according to CBS Minneapolis. She lives in St. Paul, Minn. with her husband.

She is described to be about 5 feet, 4 inches tall with blonde hair, green eyes and weighing about 110 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call St. Paul Police at 651-291-1111.

Mystery of missing Mall of America manager as her car is found in parking lot with cell phone and purse still inside

Authorities in Minnesota looking for a missing Mall of America manager have searched the home she shares with her husband and roommate after her car was found in the mall parking lot in the early hours of Monday morning.

Kira Trevino, 30, was last seen by her husband, Jeff Trevino, at the couple's St Paul house on Friday and Trevino's family said that her cell phone and purse were discovered in her white 2010 Chevy Cobalt.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension searched the home on Monday evening as family and friends made desperate pleas for Kira, who is a manager at Delia’s, a clothing store for teenage girls in the world-famous mall to return home.

Mall security noticed her car in a parking ramp on the west side of the mall at about 4:55 a.m. Monday and called police.

Tara Hall, a colleague who said she is Trevino's best friend, told the Star Tribune that it's perfectly normal for Kira to park where the car was found, but not specifically in the isolated location under a ramp where police found the vehicle.

However, family members told Fox 9 News that it was neatly parked in a place that she never usually stopped in and struck them as odd, because Kira was not skilled at parking.

Authorities canvassed the car and said there was 'evidence that concerned investigators,' but they wouldn’t elaborate further on what that meant.

Security personel are reviewing surveillance footage for any clues that could shed light on Trevino's disappearance.

'This is absolutely 100 percent out of character for her,' said her friend Jackie Arrando.

Bodyfound in Mississippi River is Kira Trevino

ST. PAUL - Authorities on Thursday say the body pulled from the Mississippi River in downtown St. Paul is that of Kira Trevino.

The badly decomposed body was found at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday under a barge south of the Robert Street Bridge.

For months, police and volunteers have been searching for Trevino, the 30-year-old St. Paul woman who has been missing since February.

Trevino was reported missing by her husband, Jeffery Trevino, on February 24. He said he last saw Kira on Friday, February 22 when she left their St. Paul home to run errands and go to work at a store in the Mall of America.

Less than a week later, Jeffery Trevino was arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder after police found "copious amounts of blood" and evidence of extensive clean-up in their home.
