NEVADA — The search for a missing Nevada woman was called off Wednesday morning after Wyandot County Sheriff Mike Hetzel announced that a body had been found.
Hetzel said one of his deputies found a body at 7:45 a.m. on the bank of a stream at the bottom of a steep embankment near Spooks Bridge on Bucyrus-Nevada Road. The deputy had been searching for Regina Morrison, 44, of Nevada, who was last seen Jan. 26.
“We found items belonging to Regina Morrison in the same area as a body,” Hetzel said as he waited on members of the Ohio Bureau of criminal investigations to arrive.
Those items include Morrison’s clutch purse, identification and medications.
the body being in the elements for about 11 days, there has been no determination of cause of death. The body was taken to Lucas County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
