A young woman told police that an armed man posing as a police officer pulled her over on I-291 Monday. The woman said she was travelling in the area of the Bissell Bridge at about 2:30 p.m. when the driver of a black Chevrolet Impala with flashing red and blue lights behind the windshield stopped her, police said Thursday. The Impala had no front license plate or markings. The driver, who had a handgun on his hip and what appeared to be a badge on a chain around his neck, approached the woman's car and asked for her license and registration. He asked her a few questions, told her she was "beautiful," then handed back her papers and returned to his car, police said. After she drove away, the man followed her onto Route 5 and Sullivan Avenue, police said. The woman reported the incident several hours later. She described the man as black, light-skinned, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, medium build, wearing dark jeans, a black shirt and black hooded sweatshirt. Police found no record of any police agency checking the woman's license or registration. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 860-644-2551. articles.courant.com/2013-01-03/community/hc-south-windsor-cop-impersonator-0104-20130103_1_police-officer-bissell-bridge-blue-lights
