This young woman is from my area and I didn't even hear about this until a few moments ago. There is definately something amiss in the story we are getting from the news media.
CLARION – A female body has been found in Clarion County and identified as that of Devan Knapp, 19, of Brookville. Knapp had been reported missing and has not been heard from since last Friday.
A passerby found Knapp’s body beside her white 2013 Toyota Scion on Summerville Drive in Millcreek Township. She had purchased the car the same day that she had disappeared.
Millcreek Township is near Fisher. The Pennsylvania State Police had traced GPS coordinates form Knapp’s cellphone.
Clarion County Coroner Terry Shaffer assisted at the scene and an autopsy will be performed. Clarion County District Attorney Mark Aaron and Jefferson County District Attorney Jeff Burkett were also at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Clarion-based state police at 814-226-1710 or the Punxsutawney-based state police at 814-938-0510.

The search for a Jefferson County woman reported missing since Friday night has ended in tragedy. Devan Cathlene Knapp, 19, of Brookville, was last seen Friday night at around 8pm at the Sheetz on Route 28 in Brookville. Clarion-based State Police reported that Knapp was found dead by a passerby inside her vehicle this morning along Summerville Drive in Millcreek Township, near the village of Shannondale. An autopsy is due to be conducted at a later time, with further information to be released. Knapp had purchased the pearl white 2013 Scion FR-S coupe shortly before her disappearance, telling her mother that she was "going to show off her new car." Surveillance footage at Sheetz revealed that Knapp was there at approximately 7:45pm. According to Jefferson County court records, Knapp had been charged last spring for conspiring to assault a man in what appeared to be a soured drug deal. Police say Knapp and two others drove Mitchell Pisarcik, 21, of DuBois to a wooded area near Clear Creek State Park in Eldred Township, and then her two co-conspirators proceeded to beat Pisarcik with a pipe or baseball bat. Knapp had reportedly given Pisarcik $100 for illegally-obtained prescription drugs, but when Pisarcik failed to deliver the drugs, the assault took place. Knapp was charged with simple and aggravated assault, conspiracy and criminal mischief for her role in the beating. She had been on parole at the time of her death, and had a parole violation hearing the week before her disappearance. Knapp was allowed to remain free while she continued routine drug and alcohol treatment. Well, apparently there are rumors running around about Devan's mysterious death. I have a few questions myself, but since I've been banned at Websleuths I'm not able to ask them, however I'm reading there and finding some very interesting observations from one of the locals. Not that I think he had a part in this situation. Rumors have been going around for a few months about Devan giving drugs to another individual, whom was found dead the very next morning. Not that she held him down and forced him to take anything, but many people did blame his death on her. My hope is that this case is really looked into. Drugs in this small town are terrible and I think there are things that do not add up. The other person that this poster is talking about being in a health care facility is this man. Devan was caring for him. Knapp was sentenced in November in Jefferson County's Court of Common Pleas in connection with the beating of a DuBois man in Eldred Township in May. She pleaded guilty to assault and was ordered to pay a fine, costs and restitution and serve 46 days to eight months in the county jail followed by four months probation. According to police reports, a 21-year-old DuBois man was assaulted in May after he received $100 from Knapp to buy prescription drugs. Police said when the man failed to produce the drugs Knapp, along with a 28-year-old Brookville man and a 19-year-old Brookville man, drove the victim to a field near the intersection of Route 36 and Osborne Road in Eldred Township, where the two men beat the DuBois man with a pipe or baseball bat. The victim suffered a fractured orbital and several contusions. The camp she was found at was owned by ppl from Pittsburgh, that may be why the Pitt number was on her phone(wanting to crash there?) it is also owned by a cop( that adds another question I know, I'm just giving hard core facts without speculation). She was inside her car. She was a drug addict. She did have a criminal past. She did get releasd from jail for narcing. The closest roads I know are the beginning of Summerville dr is turned onto off of Strattanville-Fisher Rd..it comes to across road that i'm not sure the name of, you continue on summeville dr to the cross of it and McKisson Dr., then it continues on a very little way to a t -section that I'm also not sure the name of..sorry I don't know the names of roads, this may not have been very helpful, I'll try to get them on sunday he saw the car from a fourwheeler trail/road. At that time he did not stop. we hadn't seen the news or facebook all weekend, so we had no idea at that time. he checked on tuesday as soon as he found out and reported it. We just found out that some loggers near by reported it too. They were allowed to continue logging that day and all week, so I'm surmising the police didn't think the nearby surrounding woods held any clues...

MILLCREEK TWP., Pa. — A 29-year-old man was charged Monday with murder and manslaughter in the death of Jefferson County teen Devan Knapp, according to the Clarion County district attorney. Knapp disappeared on January 11 of this year. Her body was found four days later in Millcreek Township, Clarion County. District attorney Mark Aaron said Shawn Ryan Carr is facing charges that include murder in the 3rd degree, involuntary manslaughter, drug delivery resulting in death as well as abuse of a corpse. According to the criminal complaint, a witness told police that he saw Carr inject Knapp with a syringe of heroin in the arm. Police said that she had trouble breathing and that’s when they said Carr and another witness took off her clothes and put her in a cold shower. Those documents said Knapp was then moved to a couch where other witnesses said she appeared to stop breathing. Police said Carr carried Knapp into her car and drove off. Those court documents said one witness told police he followed Carr to Summerville Drive in Clarion County where her body was later found. Tuesday, February 26, 2013 A Rimersburg, Clarion County, man was charged Monday in the Jan. 12 death of 19-year-old Devan Cathlene Knapp of Brookville, whose body was discovered last month in a remote location in Millcreek Township, Clarion County. Shawn Ryan Carr, 29, was charged with third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, drug delivery resulting in death and other charges relating to incident that took place between 2 a.m. and noon Jan. 12 in Rimersburg Borough. Carr, who is being held in Armstrong County Jail on probation violations relating to 2009 charges, was arrested Monday afternoon on the new charges. Troopers Randy Powell and William Craddock of the Clarion-based state police said their investigation began on the morning of Jan. 13 when Knapp's mother, Sheri McElhinny, reported her daughter missing. She had last been seen on the evening of Jan. 11. Knapp's vehicle was found Jan. 15 "at the entrance to a camp in a remote area of Summerville Drive in Millcreek Township," according to court documents filed Monday with District Judge Jeffrey Miller in New Bethlehem. Police say Knapp's body was found in the driver's seat of her car in a state of partial undress, with a syringe in her lap and open "waxen baggies" in the car's center console. Inside the car, police also found Knapp's cell phone and a receipt dated Jan. 11 from the Giant Eagle store along Freeport Road in Pittsburgh. Surveillance video from the store allegedly showed Knapp and a male later identified as Shawn Carr. Police reviewed Knapp's phone records and found Carr's cell phone number on the device. Based on a tip, police also found surveillance video of Knapp and Carr in Knapp's vehicle at the East Brady Uni-Mart shortly after midnight on Jan. 12. A search warrant was obtained for Carr's cell phone records, which turned up several text messages sent Jan. 12, including a pair that said a girl had overdosed and that Carr was "keeping her breathing." Police spoke with Joel Tanner Stark at his residence in Rimersburg Jan. 28. They say they found him hiding in a closet. He was wanted for a parole violation and several bench warrants. During an interview with police, Stark said Carr and Knapp arrived at his home in the early morning hours of Jan. 12. He said it was the first time he had met Knapp, and he said they all used heroin in his home. Stark told police he saw Carr inject Knapp with a syringe. A short time later, he said, Knapp had trouble breathing and was gasping for air. At that point, according to the affidavit of probable cause, Stark and his girlfriend, Adonica Vigus, along with Carr, took off Knapp's clothing and placed her in a cold shower. Vigus performed CPR on Knapp and revived her. Stark told police that Knapp opened her eyes, but was unable to talk or walk. Her breathing was still irregular, he said. About a half-hour later, Carr said Knapp was not breathing. Stark told police Carr put Knapp in passenger seat of her car and drove off. He said he told Carr to take Knapp to the hospital, but Carr said he couldn't because he had warrants for his arrest. Stark told police he believed Knapp was dead when Carr drove away from the Rimersburg home. Stark said he followed Carr to the Millcreek Township location and told police Carr moved Knapp into the driver's seat of her car and placed the syringe in her lap "to make it look as if Knapp simply overdosed there." Stark also told police that he and Carr arranged to get four needles from Alex Nicole Kiesling because Carr needed a new needle without his blood in it. He said the two men met Kiesling near the old truckstop at the Strattanville exit of Interstate 80. Kiesling was questioned by police Jan. 21. They say she told them Carr was her ex-boyfriend. She was interviewed again Jan. 30 and told police she gave four needles to Carr. Kiesling explained that it was not the first time Carr had asked her for needles as he "is a known heroin user and dealer." An autopsy performed in Erie County showed that Knapp died as a result of morphine toxicity, which is consistent with heroin use, police said. Carr is also charged with aggravated assault, several drug-related charges, criminal conspiracy, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, reckless endangerment, assault and abuse of a corpse for moving Knapp's body. Clarion County District Attorney Mark Aaron credited state police for their "diligent" work on the case.
