Woman's burnt, naked body found Brooklyn

A young woman’s burnt naked body was found along the Brooklyn shoreline Sunday morning.

The charred body was found in Gerritsen Beach near Gerritsen and Lois Aves. about 7:10 a.m., police said.

Investigators are trying to determine the woman’s identity, how she died and how she ended up there.

Police have identified a charred and naked body found along the Brooklyn shoreline as that of a 14-year-old girl reported missing.

Police say Shaniesha Forbes' body was discovered on a beach at the south end of Gerritsen Avenue in Gerritsen Beach on Sunday. She had burns on her hands, arms and legs.

Police say the Brooklyn teenager was last seen on Friday and reported missing the next day.

The cause of death has not yet been determined.
