FORT WAYNE, Ind. — A babysitter and trusted neighbor has confessed that he bludgeoned a 9-year-old Indiana girl to death with a brick then dismembered her, hiding her head, hands and feet at a home where he was staying and dumping the rest of her remains nearby, police said Tuesday. Allen County sheriff's investigators said in an affidavit that 39-year-old Michael Plumadore admits he killed Aliahna Lemmon on Thursday. According to the affidavit, Plumadore told police that after beating Aliahna to death on the front steps of the home in the early morning hours, he stuffed her body into trash bags and hid her in the freezer at the home in a rundown trailer park in Fort Wayne. He said he later chopped up her body with a hacksaw and stuffed her remains into freezer bags Police said Plumadore told them he had hidden Aliahna's head, feet and hands at the trailer and discarded her other remains at a nearby business. Police obtained a warrant to search the trailer on Monday and found the body parts. articles.nydailynews.com/2011-12-27/news/30563174_1_trailer-park-body-parts-sheriff-ken-fries

Chain of events leading to Plumadore's guilty pleaFORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Days before Christmas last year, Aliahna Lemmon was reported her missing by her then babysitter and family friend, Michael Plumadore. He lived in the Northway Mobile Home Park in north Allen County. On Christmas Eve, NewsChannel 15 was first to report her missing on our Saturday edition of First News. It was only a couple days later when Plumadore stepped forward and said he was the one who killed Aliahna. A press conference conducted by the Allen County Sheriff's Department soon followed saying Plumadore was arrested in the murder of Aliahna. On December 27th, the story received national attention, the probable cause affidavit was released and Plumadore made his first court appearance and remained in custody without bond. NewsChannel 15's Drew Blair appeared on the Nancy Grace Show talking about the case. The following day, the autopsy report was complete, but no cause of death was determined. Police said Plumadore dismembered the body with a hack saw, stuffed her body in several bags and then put the body in his freezer. A few days later on December 30th, Plumadore was charged with one count of murder, one count of abuse of corpse and one count of moving a body from the scene. His trailer was also moved so the Allen County Prosecutor's Office could use it to collect evidence. In January and February, Plumadore made court appearances regarding the case. On March 7th, a cause of death was determined saying Aliahna died from multiple blunt force trauma and suffocation injuries. On May 1st, a pre-trial hearing was set to confirm a trial date, which led to Plumadore's guilty plea on Friday. Plumadore's attorneys and the State of Indiana entered a plea agreement Friday afternoon for the court's review. "I repeatedly hit Aliahna Lemmon in the head with a brick," Plumadore said. "I cut Aliahna up with a hacksaw." The Allen County Prosecutor is seeking life without parole. The court will review the plea agreement for acceptance. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for June 18, the date the murder trial was originally set to begin. www.wane.com/dpp/news/local/chain-of-events-leading-to-plumadores-arrest-and-guilty-plea
