Last night, I received a private message at WebSleuths from another WS member. They wish to remain anonymous, so I will call them INFO2. I recognized INFO2 as a forum member from much earlier in the Shunick investigation. INFO2 contacted me and indicated they had information they believed shed light on what occurred on the night of the disappearance. They were feeling distraught by it and asked to talk to me about it. INFO2 gave me their phone number and we talked for a couple hours last night.
INFO2 is from Lafayette and knows the Shunick family. She is involved, in a major way, with the volunteer searches and the fund-raising operations. She also had frequent contact with various LE throughout the investigation. INFO2 wishes to share their information with the WebSleuths forum, but wants to remain anonymous to protect their relationship with the family. In addition to their information concerning the night of the crime, I asked INFO2 many questions about the search efforts, fund-raising, Brettly Wilson, Charlie Shunick, and the Shunick family.
I will try to relate what I learned over the next few days. There is a lot of information.
Tonight, I will pass on their information they think relates to the night of the crime.
1) INFO2 was told by LE that video of MS further down St. Landry definitely exists. This corroborates what has been reported elsewhere. I told them that A.C.I. has indicated that video may exist obtained from a tower near St. Landry and Dean St. INFO2 knows the tower in question and believes that may be true.
2) The area behind Blackham Coliseum was searched on May 22. INFO2 was present. They indicate the area around the ULL Printing Services building was an area of intense scrutiny.
Lat-long coordinates for location: 30°12'55.24" N 92° 2'7.55" W
A coulee runs along the print shop with an adjacent park on the opposite side. There is a parking lot next to the print shop with a pedestrian bridge that crosses the coulee into the park. Parts of this area were taped off for an extended period for forensic investigation. Police dogs were brought in and signaled positive for MS's scent on *BOTH* sides of the bridge.
3) As we know, BSL was captured on video by the Daily Advertiser. INFO2 inspected the Advertiser building and only found video cameras on the side and back. The side of the building is along W. Devalcourt St. No cameras facing Bertand Dr were observed. These cameras are clearly visible on Google Earth. There is a camera on the Devalcourt side near the front of the building. This camera might have a good view of the front of the building. If not, BLM must have passed the Advertiser camera driving along the side as he approached Bertand Dr.
INFO2's believes the following happened that night:
1) MS made it all the way down St. Landry to Coliseum Rd. BSL tracked MS from Circle K or some point earlier on her route.
2) MS turned right on Coliseum Rd. BSL followed and bumped the bike near the ULL Printing Services building.
3) MS was knocked from her bike, but was able to make an escape running through the print shop parking lot and across the pedestrian bridge.
4) BLM pursued MS and captured her somewhere in the park. He might have killed her in the park or simply subdued her. Body and bike were brought back to truck.
5) BLM made his escape by the following: North on Coliseum Rd, left on Souvenir Gate, right on Cajundome Blvd, straigh across W. Congress St, left on W. Devalcourt passing Daily Advertiser, right on Bertrand Dr. Bertrand merges with Amb Caffrey which intersects with I-10.

Acadiana Hairdressers Discuss The Behavior Of Brandon Scott LavergneThe Independent spoke to a Crowley hairdresser, Holly Bourriague, who cut Lavergne’s hair on several occasions. She notes that the last time he came in for a hair cut, June 20th, she noticed what appeared to be a cut on this neck. Keep in mind, this appointment with Bourriague was one month after the disappearance of Mickey Shunick. The stylist would describe the cut on Lavergne’s neck, as seen in the mug shot, to be an apparent “knife wound.” Bourriague says she could not tell how old the wound was but does not remember noticing it before. In addition to this observation, the hair stylist described Brandon Scott Lavergne as being a “flirtatious guy.” Bourruague said that while she would cut Lavergne’s hair, he was very charming, joking and flirting. The stylist even noted that he called her on his way to Venice, while heading to work, and asked her out on a date upon his return to Acadiana. She says that Lavergne said, ‘I’ll call you in two weeks when I get back in. Maybe we can do something.’ Needless to say, the stylist was really shook up when she heard the news of Brandon Scott Lavergne’s arrest. After reading this article in the The Independent, I was given some further information on yet another local stylist experiencing the same type of behavior from Lavergne. Speaking anonymously, this Lafayette hair dresser told me that while she would cut Lavergne’s hair she too was victim of his flirtatious ways. Often he would flirt with her and wait specifically for her to cut his hair. At times, he would would sit through several other appointments to wait for this one particular hair dresser. The hair dresser I spoke to described Brandon Lavergne as follows: “He was always really friendly or you can say flirty. He was a little different.” Like the stylist who spoke to The Independent, she too was in utter shock when she learned of his involvement in the Mickey Shunick case. On a side note, neither of the hair stylist mentioned in this blog were aware of Lavergne’s previous criminal record or of his registered sex offender status prior to his recent arrest by Lafayette Police. 1079ishot.com/acadiana-hairdressers-discuss-the-behavior-of-brandon-scott-lavergne/

Brandon Scott Lavergne was being monitored
Posted: Jul 9, 2012 3:20 PM by KPEL Updated: Jul 9, 2012 3:21 PM LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) — New details have emerged about what ultimately led to the arrest of Brandon Scott Lavergne, the 33-year-old man charged with the first degree murder and aggravated kidnapping of 22-year-old Mickey Shunick. In an interview with Scott Brazda on Friday’s edition of “The Afternoon Drive Home,” Cpl. Paul Mouton, a Lafayette Police Department spokesperson, revealed Lavergne was being monitored very closely. They knew Lavergne worked offshore, Mouton said, and they had an idea of what routes he would normally drive. “When it was told to us that he would be traveling,” Mouton said, “that information was passed on to the Louisiana State Police who were in the area.” Mouton said Lavergne’s driver’s license had been altered to hide the fact he was a registered sex offender. Lavergne evidently did this in order to buy a new truck. “When he went to purchase the new vehicle,” Mouton said, “that information was covered up so that it would not show up when he made the purchase.” A white Chevrolet Z-71 registered to Lavergne was found burned out in San Jacinto County, Tex, Mouton said. Lavergne bought a white 2011 Chevrolet Silverado shortly after. Many have expressed their frustration over the apparent lack of information coming from the police department about the case. Mouton said this is done in order to protect the integrity of the case and to avoid the unwanted possibility of a change of venue in Lavergne’s trial. “We want this suspect to be tried in our court system where the crime occurred,” Mouton said. “And if a jury pool can not be pulled together and be unbiased in the decision they make, then it’s going to me moved, and we don’t want that.” kpel965.com/new-details-about-lavergne-traffic-stop-investigation-process-audio/
