The family of a woman reported missing a week ago is offering a $10,000 reward for information on her whereabouts, and has set up a Web site aimed at generating leads.
Nailah Franklin, 28, was reported missing Sept. 19 after she didn't show up for an important work meeting, and family members and volunteers have been papering the city with fliers.
Franklin had filed a police report about threatening phone calls she received from a man she dated briefly. Chicago police on Monday that said they have interviewed someone Franklin dated, but have not named him as a suspect and added that they have interviewed a number of people.
Police said they are continuing to work, with the help of the FBI, on developing physical evidence from Franklin's car, which was found abandoned in Hammond on Saturday.
On Tuesday, family members said they pooled money together for a reward for information leading to finding Franklin, a pharmaceutical representative who lived in the West Loop.
The family is also establishing a Web site, www.bringnailahfranklinhome.com, to let the public know the latest in their search, generate tips and focus volunteer support.
"We hope this will help the police investigate Nailah's disappearance, and get Nailah home to us," said her sister Lehia Franklin Acox.
Franklin was last heard from Sept. 18 when she called her boyfriend. Three vague text messages from her phone later that night indicated she was having dinner and would call her family and boss back. They didn't hear from her again.
