DAVENPORT - Police are looking for a missing Iowa City woman. Police say that the missing woman, Crystal Slach, 44, and a 53-year-old woman had been at the “riverboats” and were trying to get back to Iowa City around 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning. The woman said that they were driving southbound on North Brady St when the driver got mad and started to speed. The car did not make the turn in the road and jumped the curb and vaulted into the pond. Police found a car, submerged so that just the roof and part of its side windows were visible, in a water retention pond located between the Swiss Valley building and D & D Chevrolet/Hummer. The woman said that both her and the driver crawled out of the driver’s side window and made it to dry ground. The two then talked for a short time and the driver indicated that she was going to walk towards the interstate to hitch-hike home. That is the last the woman saw of the driver. The area was searched both on foot and by air and police were unable to locate the driver; she has not arrived at her home in rural Iowa City or her place of employment. Slach is described as 5’4” tall, 125 pounds. Anyone with information concerning the incident or the missing female is requested to contact the Davenport Police Department. www.kcrg.com/news/local/9899362.html
