A 22-year-old Provo woman has not been seen by friends or family since Thursday about noon.
Saturday, after learning that Camille Cleverley's neighbors hadn't seen her either, the woman's sister-in-law, Staci Cleverley, called police and organized a search effort.
Cleverley, a family and human development student at Brigham Young University, misplaced her mobile phone in the days before she went missing.
She is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs about 110 pounds, has blue eyes and blond hair and is originally from Boise.
Family members and Provo police believe she has a silver and purple Schwinn mountain bike and her wallet with her. The bicycle was her only mode of transportation.
Police from Provo city, BYU and Utah County are helping with the search, said BYU spokeswoman Carri Jenkins. In addition, about 150 volunteers gathered near Cleverley's off-campus apartment early Sunday afternoon.
The volunteers searched throughout the city while the police talked to sources and looked along the Provo River Parkway — a favorite spot of Cleverley's.
"It's very uncharacteristic of Camille to be not here," Staci Cleverley said. "She might have had an accident and not be able to get help. There's foul play potentially involved, too."
Staci Cleverley said she contacted all of Camille's friends, including her boyfriend, on Saturday but none of them had seen her.
"She just brings a smile to my face," Staci Cleverley said. "She's a very conscientious student and employee. ... When she makes friends she makes lasting friendships."
The young woman's family are praying and hoping for her return but said they realize that they may face bad news.
"We hope that this is an overreaction," Staci Cleverley said. "We want to see her safe, but we have to realize that is not the only option here."
Provo Police Capt. Cliff Argyle said his office will continue looking for Cleverley today. They have also posted her name on a national missing persons computer database.
Argyle asked that anyone with information about Cleverley call Provo detective Sgt. Mark Crosby at 801-852-7241 or Staci Cleverley at 801-529-7737.
