[glow=red,2,300]Eric Mickelson confesses to the death of Kristi O'Pry[/glow]
Kristi Gwen O'Pry was last seen by family members in Shreveport, Louisiana on Friday July 19, 1996. She needed a ride to run some errands and because she did not own a car she asked her boyfriend's friend Eric to give her a ride. After Eric brought Kristi to run her errands they went by her sister's home to visit.
They visited with Kristi's sister Paige from 7 to 8pm. Kristi and Eric left together that night and Kristi has never been seen or heard from again by family members. Eric told The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office that he dropped Kristi off at South Park Mall on Jewella Avenue in Shreveport at 8:30 that night.
Detectives in charge of the case have investigated many leads but have been unable to confirm her whereabouts after she left her sister's house in south Shreveport in a white, early-model Chevrolet fleetside pickup truck with Eric Dale Mickelson.
Authorities suspect foul play and family members fear the worst. Kristi's mysterious disappearance has caused her family unrelenting pain and sadness. "Kristi would never leave town without telling anyone" says her sister, Paige. "I know her too well to think she could leave her little girl.
Eric Dale Mickelson and Kristi Gwen O'Pry drove away together in this truck and Kristi has never been seen or heard from again by family members. The people who love and miss Kristi want to know what became of Kristi after she and Eric left her sister's home that night. All Kristi had with her was her purse. The purse was black denim with light pastel stripes. Kristi was wearing blue jeans, a black, short sleeve mid-drift shirt and brown sandals. Kristi has long blond hair, light blue eyes, she's 5' 7", and weighs 115 pounds. Her ears are double pierced.
Eric claims he dropped her off at the El Chico entrance at South Park Mall on Jewella Avenue in Shreveport around 8:30 that night, but no one has been able to confirm that she was actually dropped off at South Park Mall. If she was dropped off at the South Park Mall where did she go from there, who picked her up? She had no car. Did she make it home sometime that night, sometime that weekend? Are the men she roomed with being honest? Is Eric being honest? So many questions, so few answers.
Kristi was living at 10197 Linwood Avenue in Shreveport at the time of her disappearance, she'd only lived at this address for three weeks. Prior to living at the Linwood Avenue address, Kristi lived in an apartment located at 3636 1/2 Alexander in Shreveport's Highland District. One week after Kristi and her longtime boyfriend Jerry "Todd" Dean moved into the Linwood Avenue home, Todd showed up with his friend Wade Burnley and announced that Wade had no place to stay and was going to be moving in. Kristi was not happy with this arrangement at all. She already felt taken advantage of before Wade entered the picture. Kristi, Todd and Wade Burnley were all living together when Kristi vanished.
Kristi's boyfriend Jerry "Todd" Dean did not inform the family that Kristi was missing for 4 days which cost us valuable time.
Even though it appeared that none of Kristi's personal belongings were missing from her home, several people witnessed Todd trying to sell Kristi's furniture. He did sell her new couch to a next door neighbor who tried to take possession of the couch the day Kristi's things were removed from her home by family members. Her kitchen table and chairs were missing (?). Todd offered Kristi's makeup and other personal belongings from the bathroom to some females but they declined his offer. This was going on before Todd reported Kristi as a missing person. Todd told their landlord that Kristi had gone to California and was never coming back. Todd's actions seem suspicious, however, he had always been known to take everything Kristi had so these things really didn't raise any "red flags" so to speak. Kristi had her sister Paige hold money for her in the past so Todd wouldn't steal it. Todd always treated Kristi horrible that's why she tried to break up with him so many times. She always took him back because she truly loved him and wanted the two of them to raise their daughter together.
Eric and Todd have remained close friends to this day and have not made any attempts is help us locate Kristi.
We need information from individuals living in The Forbing Area of South Shreveport. Kristi lived on Shattalon Drive (second house on the left) located on the northeast corner of Shattalon Drive and Linwood Avenue. Just north of Mayo Road. If you or someone you know has heard "something", please contact us. No matter how crazy or insignificant it may seem.
There's alot more to this mystery than we can share on this web site because of the ongoing investigation.
