Pine Lawn police officer remained jailed Friday night at the St. Louis County jail amid allegations of witness tampering.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office said Martini Haynes facilitated contact between attorney Eric Tolen and a 16-year-old boy.
Tolen was charged in June with 18 counts of sodomy. He is accused of sexually assaulting the boy and another teen at his Town and Country home.
Prosecutors said Haynes took the 16-year-old to meet with Tolen and also drove him to a recent court hearing in Illinois to testify on Tolen's behalf.
A judge on Friday ordered Haynes to surrender his police badge and any service weapons in his possession to the St. Louis County Police Department upon his release from jail.
Tolen was also charged with victim tampering.
He is being held in the St. Louis County Jail in leiu of $200,000 bond; bond for Haynes is set at $50,000.
