Jessie Davis shock - a baby has been found near the scene where she disappeared. According to reports, a newborn girl with her umbilical cord still attached was found in a basket on a doorstep 45 miles from where the nine month pregnant woman vanished, authorities said Tuesday. A DNA sample was taken from the infant Tuesday and was given to authorities investigating the disappearance. Is this Jessie's baby? Thomas Maurer, sheriff in neighboring Wayne County, said a doctor determined that the baby was less than 24 hours old, and that officials are using "every caution we can" to eliminate the possibility that the baby is related to the missing woman, Jessie Davis. *** In an eerie scene, A couple arriving home from dinner Monday night discovered the newborn on the porch of their rural home south of Wooster. The baby was taken to Wooster Community Hospital, where DNA from the girl was taken using a mouth swab. Jessie Marie Davis was reported missing on Friday. The 9-1-1 call released by investigators is chilling. You can hear the panic and fear in Jessie's mother's voice as she talks to the operator. When asked if Jessie left her son home alone, Patty yelled, "She didn't leave him alone! My God, something is WRONG!" Officials said they are continuing to interview the associates of 26-year-old Jessie Marie Davis to establish a timeline of where she had been and to whom she had spoken before disappearing www.nationalledger.com/artman/publish/article_272614183.shtml
