32-year-old Wanda Johnson left her home in Stanly County Friday morning and hasn't been seen since. Monday night her family spoke with Eyewitness News about the agonizing wait for any word. The family confirmed Wanda paid a bill in Mount Holl, and possibly visited a friend off Idlewild Road in Charlotte. They say she called her husband around 2:00pm Friday to say she was on her way to work. She never made it.
Wanda's husband was too upset to talk to us on camera. He says he got in touch with Wanda on her Nextel phone sometime after 8:00pm Friday, but she was unable to speak. He started asking her yes or no questions and told her to beep once for no and twice for yes. She alerted him that she was hurt badly, but nothing more.
Johson's family says she was last seen in a Gold 2000 Saturn 4-door car. The North Carolina license plate is TZZ-7925. If you have seen this car, call Crime Stoppers at (704) 334-1600.

Police report no new leads this afternoon in the case of a woman missing since Friday evening in Charlotte.
Wanda Janette Johnson has not been heard from since before sunset Friday, when she called her husband and indicated that she needed help.
According to family members, Johnson said she was somewhere in the area of East Independence Boulevard and Idlewild Road. Family members told police that Johnson called on her cell phone and indicated she was in some sort of trouble, although she was not able to say what was wrong.
Johnson’s husband said she was on route from her home in Stanley, in eastern Gaston County, to Huntersville. Police have no idea why Johnson would have been so far away from her scheduled route. Police launched a search Friday evening along the Idlewild Road corridor, using patrol cars and a helicopter. Police say they searched wooded areas along the road until after midnight.
