Authorities are searching for a missing 21-year-old Pennsylvania woman who vanished after partying with friends at a local nightclub. Kortne Ciera Stouffer, of Palmyra, Pa., was last seen around 3:45 a.m. at her apartment July 29, after returning from a night of dancing at the Hardware Bar in downtown Harrisburg. When police later searched the young woman's home they found the door locked and her purse, cellphone and dog still inside, according to local reports. "Kortne is very close to her family and rarely goes a day without talking to numerous immediate family members who live close by," the family's attorney, Karl Rominger, said in a statement. "Her sudden disappearance is completely out of character and with every day that passes, the family is becoming more concerned." The Stouffer family is offering a $22,500 reward for any information leading to their daughter. "We're really thankful to the family the friends, strangers, everybody who came out to help look for Kortne," her mother, Wendy Stouffer, told WHPTV.com. "Everybody has been so supportive and amazing and we just didn't realize how many friends and family and everybody and everybody who loves us and Kortne and wants to bring her home." Stouffer, who is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 115 pounds, has long blonde hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing brightly colored shorts and a yellow tank top. She also has several tattoos, including "one love" on her right bicep, stars on her left foot and flowers with a pistol on her left hip. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is being urged to call authorities at 717-838-8189 or 717-744-TIPS. www.foxnews.com/us/2012/08/09/authorities-call-disappearance-21-year-old-pennsylvania-woman-suspicious/

Search for missing Palmyra woman turns up no new evidenceA group of 50 volunteers led by Derry Township and Palmyra Borough police searched fields and wooded areas within about a 2 ½-mile radius of the apartment of Kortne Stouffer, who has been missing 10 days. It was the first organized search for Stouffer since she was last seen early Sunday morning, July 29, at her apartment at 810 W. Main St. "The good news is that we didn't find anything. The bad news is that we didn't find anything," said Matthew Scott, acting as spokesman for the family. "There is no new evidence. We eliminated areas where Kortne may have been." He said another search has not been scheduled at this time. Police gathered the group, including family and friends, at the Citizens Fire Co. on North College Street at noon. After the volunteers were logged in, they were taken to a room inside the fire station, and the doors of the station were closed to anyone who was not on the list of volunteers that police had. The closed meeting was to instruct the volunteers about the places they would be searching and the process, according to one police officer. The media were not allowed to sit in on the meeting. No explanation for the secrecy was offered. Volunteers led by police searched a field and alleys and a neighborhood on the south side of East Caracas Avenue, adjacent to the National Guard Armory, in Derry Township. A police dog that accompanied a K-9 unit from Derry Township was not used in the search. Another search was conducted in a wooded and quarry area north of North Avenue, just east of ASK Foods, in the borough. At one point, an article of clothing was found in the wooded area adjacent to ASK Foods, but it was determined not to be related to the case. Scott said Kortne Stouffer has not been in contact with her family since the day before she went missing. He said she is very close to her family and rarely goes a day without talking to her mother. Stouffer's cell phone, purse, keys and car were left at her apartment, Scott said. The shoes she was wearing that night also were there, but the clothes she had on were not, he said. A dog also was missing, he said. Lebanon County District Attorney Dave Arnold earlier characterized her disappearance as "suspicious." Kortne's father, Scott Stouffer, said the Palmyra police had asked them to organize a small number of volunteers "to help us cover certain areas of suspicion where Kortne might have gone the night that she disappeared." Stouffer said they are trying to develop a list of places where they know she is not so police can focus their efforts on other clues. "We appreciate everybody calling and asking to help," Stouffer said. He asked anyone who has information about Kortne to "please help us. Help us bring her home." Stouffer said it is hard to explain what the last 10 days have been like for him. "It's hard to explain something that you never imagined (would happen) in your life," he said. Stouffer said police are working on some leads but have not shared that information with him. Palmyra police Chief Stanley J. Jasinski Jr. has not released any information to the media. He did not participate in the search Wednesday. The search group was limited to 50 people, although a number of other people showed up to help. Their names were put on a secondary list in case one of the other volunteers needed a break. Jeffrey Troch of Pottsville came to help out. "I want to support the effort. I don't know her. I'm not even from the area," Troch said. "I work at Fort Indiantown Gap and I heard about it. I took some leave time today to come down and help out." Nichole Donley of Palmyra said her friends from church know the family, and she asked the congregation of Palmyra First Evangelical Congregational Church to pray for them. "I just wanted to help. I've been wondering why they haven't done a search and now they are," said Donley. "We just hope for the best." Donley's daughter worked briefly with Kortne at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant in North Londonderry Township. As a mother, Donley said, she can't imagine what the family is experiencing. "I can't imagine not knowing where your daughter is," she said. Terri Bardine of Palmyra also just came to help out. "I don't know who she is, but a friend just told me about the search, so I drove over from my house," she said. "I wanted to see if there was something I could do." www.ldnews.com/announcements/ci_21267959/search-missing-palmyra-woman-turns-up-no-new?source=most_viewed

Palmyra police among last to see StoufferPalmyra police were among the last to see 21-year-old Kortne Stouffer, who has been missing without a trace for more than a week. According to a review of Lebanon County Emergency Management Agency dispatch logs, Palmyra Borough police were dispatched to Stouffer's apartment building at 810 W. Main St. twice in the early morning hours of July 29, the day and time she went missing. The first 911 call was made at 3:12 a.m. for a disturbance and indicates that Patrolman Timothy Lengle arrived on the scene 3 minutes later. The dispatch record provides no additional details other than the officer reported he was leaving the scene at 3:49 a.m. - about the time Stouffer was last seen, according to a borough police news release issued about 60 hours after her disappearance. The EMA log states that borough police were called back to Stouffer's address for another disturbance at 4:12 a.m. and left at 4:36 a.m. Palmyra police Chief Stanley J. Jasinski Jr. was not available for comment Wednesday afternoon, and a police representative said there was no record of a citation or arrest made at Stouffer's apartment at that time. The same representative said a Freedom of Information Act request would be required in writing to acquire the borough's dispatch log information. The EMA records, however, match information provided by members of Stouffer's family, who said police were called to her apartment about 3:30 a.m. July 29 for a noise complaint from a neighbor involving the missing woman's dog - also missing. Stouffer lives on the second floor of a duplex apartment. According to the borough police report which lists Lt. James Hunt as the investigating officer, Stouffer, a part-time hair dresser, has not been seen since about 3:45 a.m. July 29. Stouffer's dog also has not been seen since Stouffer went missing. Her car keys, purse, and cell phone were left in the apartment which, has since been sealed by police. On Wednesday, a posse of law-enforcement personnel from Palmyra and Derry Township, with help from members of Stouffer's family and other volunteers, searched field and woods near the missing woman's apartment but did not find anything relevant. Stouffer's family and friends have done their best to locate her by offering a $22,500 reward and posting fliers of her photos throughout Lebanon County and in Harrisburg, where she reportedly spent much of the night before her disappearance at the Hardware Bar. Stouffer is white; 5 feet, 8 inches tall; weighing 115 pounds; with blond hair, a few strands of which are braided in dreadlocks. She has a tattoo with the words "one love" on her right bicep; another one with stars on her left foot and a third one of flowers and a pistol on her hip. She was last seen wearing a yellow tank top and black shorts with a pattern of red, green and yellow splotches. She also had bracelets on her arm. Anyone with information about Stouffer's disappearance is asked to call borough police at 717-838-8189 or email kortneinfo@gmail.com. www.ldnews.com/announcements/ci_21266936/palmyra-police-among-last-see-stouffer

New figure emerges in Stouffer disappearanceThe parents of missing Palmyra woman Kortne Stouffer told an interviewer on CNN's Headline News Thursday night that a male friend was staying overnight in their daughter's apartment when she went missing. Twenty-one-year-old Stouffer was last seen around 3:45 a.m. Sunday, July 29, according to police reports. "This was a friend of hers," Wendy Stouffer said on the television show. "Kortne thought he was a friend of hers." Scott and Wendy Stouffer refused to disclose the man's name. A call placed to Lebanon County District Attorney Dave Arnold Thursday night was not immediately returned. Kortne Stouffer said Kortne has not been in contact with her family since the day before she went missing. He said she is very close to her family and rarely goes a day without talking to her mother. Palmyra Borough police were dispatched to Stouffer's apartment building at 810 W. Main St. twice in the early morning hours of July 29. The first was for a dispute involving Kortne and her neighbors over Kortne's dog, Sheba. Stouffer lives on the second floor of a duplex apartment. The first 911 call was made at 3:12 a.m. for a disturbance and indicates that Patrolman Timothy Lengle arrived on the scene 3 minutes later. "They (police) talked to Kortne and the neighbors, and they were all told to go back into their apartments and leave each other alone," Wendy Stouffer said during the interview on the Headline News program "Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell." However, Velez-Mitchell told the Stouffers her understanding is that police were called back to the address by neighbors because the downstairs neighbors said they heard "stomping and banging" coming from Kortne's apartment. "As far as we know, they (police) went back to her apartment, they didn't see anybody, didn't hear anybody, all the lights were off," Wendy said. "They knocked on the doors and they left." Dispatch logs indicate that borough police were called back to Kortne's address for the second time at 4:12 a.m. and left at 4:36 a.m. Scott Stouffer said during the interview Thursday night that both he and police spoke with Kortne's overnight guest, who corroborated that there had been a dispute between Kortne and the neighbors. He told the Stouffers, however, that there was no argument between himself and Kortne. Scott said the man told him that he stayed the night - and that they went to bed after police were called the second time. Wendy reiterated, however, that they "don't know what happened the second time (police were called). No one answered the door." The unnamed overnight guest said that he woke up at 7:30 a.m., and Kortne was not there, so he left, Scott said. Stouffer's cell phone, purse, keys and car were left at her apartment, Scott said earlier this week. The shoes she was wearing that night also were there, but the clothes she had on were not. Wendy Stouffer added they know the guest left the apartment in the morning because there is video of him at a store. And, she said, he told them that he texted Kortne: "I left. I didn't see you. What happened to you?" "Something happened to my daughter after 4 a.m. that morning," Wendy said. "I called and texted her all day Sunday, and that is not like Kortne to not get in touch with someone." Wendy said that on Monday morning she drove to Kortne's apartment, knocked on the door and Kortne's dog, Sheba, came to the door. The door was unlocked and her car was there. Wendy went inside the apartment and called for Kortne, but she didn't answer. Scott Stouffer said he's had difficulty believing the overnight guest's story. "He was the last person to see my daughter. I felt there was more there. I still feel there's more there," Scott said, later adding, "It's hard for me to believe that in a span of three hours that someone just vanishes, and you're in the same house and you have no idea. You hear nothing, you see nothing." Scott added that he didn't believe there were romantic intentions between the two, because Kortne was in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend and is "very loyal" to him. Kortne had reportedly gone out with friends Saturday night to the Hardware Bar in Harrisburg, and Scott said he believes the man may have decided to stay over at her apartment because they may have been drinking. Wendy added that Kortne had not had much contact with the man since she started dating her boyfriend. The boyfriend was not at the apartment that weekend. Wendy said the boyfriend has a "very strong alibi." "They (Kortne and the unidentified man) were friends two years ago. They would hang out and do stuff as group. Since dating her boyfriend, they did not have a lot of contact," she said. "He stopped by about a month ago. It was the first time her boyfriend had any interaction with him and met him. I think because her boyfriend was away, she thought she could hang out with him, ...he could protect her, he was a guy friend to hang out with." The Stouffers do not know if the man's vehicle has been seized by police. The reward for information leading to the whereabouts of Stouffer has been increased to $23,700 due to donations. "We just want her to come home; we just want her home," Wendy said. "Someone knows where she is. I just want them to tell me where she's at." www.ldnews.com/ci_21275447/kortne-stouffers-father-male-was-apartment-morning-kortne?source=most_viewed

News has continuing coverage of the mysterious disappearance of a 21-year-old Lebanon County woman who's been missing for 12 days now. Friday, her father tells CBS 21 News that he strongly believes his daughter Kortne Stouffer is still alive. Kortne's father says his family's appearance on CNN last night really helped. People have been coming to the family Friday with new leads, some he can't really share with us because he's worried it'll hurt the investigation. One of the things Kortne Stouffer's father believes may have happened is that she was taken and is being held against her will. The family believes Kortne went missing somewhere between 4 and 730 a.m. on July 29. That morning, after returning to her Palmyra apartment from a night out, her family says she argued with a neighbor and police were called out. So it's possible that three people could have been the last to see her before she disappeared, the officer, her neighbor and the man who stayed the night and left her place in the morning. Since her disappearance, the family started conducting their own investigation, even going on horseback to search for her daily. “I just can't sit still, we feel kind of helpless and after 12 days and my daughter is out there now knowing where she's at, what kind of environment she's in,” father Scott Stouffer told us. “It's just not how we're built, you know." Saturday, the family plans on spending the day passing out fliers again because some of them have been torn down by someone. With help from local police, they're looking into that as well. We also learned that the FBI is not involved in this search yet, they say they haven't been asked to do so by local authorities. www.whptv.com/news/local/story/Family-of-missing-Palmyra-woman-has-new-leads-in/aqdJADfPBUSRjy6UyBl1PQ.cspxAttachments:

I just caught wind of it myself yesterday PJD, don't feel badly. We have been dealing so much with Mickey that we didn't see what was happening in our own backyards. I want to know so much more, but there is so little information out there. The mom and dad were on JVM which I was able to catch, but still. And the guy that stayed over night, how the fuck could he not have known that she had left sometime within those 4 hours? Was he THAT soused? Wowwie. And those dumpsters need to be checked, they need to get dogs out there and they need to see which way she went. I don't like that back entrance or exit to the second story apartment, and I don't know if that entrance is hers or is the neighbors. If it's the neighbors and that's who she was fighting with, that person needs to have their apartment gone over with a fine tooth comb. This isn't a good situation.

I am wondering about the male friend too. Maybe this has been cleared up and I'm behind but...didn't I read that she hadn't had much contact with him since she started dating her current bf? I know people change and drift apart but that seems like an interesting coincidence. I guess it caught my attention because I've never really drifted apart from a friend because of or at the same time as a romantic relationship...for me that has happened more as a result of graduating and moving away from the friends. As far as him not hearing anything, to me that sounds believable...especially if he'd been drinking. I've seen snoozing drunks get hit in the face with a soccer ball and keep right on snoring.

I'm not buying what they are selling either. But then apparently he texted her from a convience store after leaving her place that morning, the only problem is, who does that? I mean if you wake up somewhere and someone is missing, why not text her right there at her place? If he had, he would have heard her phone going off. So, I just am not buying it.

Too much information is missing, both from LE and the parents. There is absolutely no direction to go to find Kortne. Sealed search warrant, secret searches, names of those involved not disclosed, nor Kortne's movements prior to disappearing. Lawyer and PI in place.
And this male friend up and about 3 hours later? If he was that drunk and didn't hear anything, how is he walking around at 7:30 pm? Establishing an alibi, to boot. Was his car there?? Even the family stated these guy friends weren't "her type."

Holy shit, I didn't even think about his car. I just thought that he went home with Kortne in her car because he was too drunk to drive. Now, where WAS his car? He had to leave her place in something. Either that or he would have had to get a ride with someone to the convience store or walked, but then how was he getting home. Just so many questions and absolute silence on the answers.

I saw that and made an apropos comment on WS about "rumors" not being allowed. Probably will have my post deleted. Frankly, these so-called rumors are often key, especially if there are enough of them pointing in the same direction. We were told the BF was on house arrest for a DUI supposedly. Sounds a little more serious than that. Plus mama Wendy made a strange comment on her FB page before her "precious baby" disappeared.

The name of the guy who spent the night at Kortne's is Cody Pruett. He supposedly drove Kortne home in her car. Wow -- sounds like he was pretty drunk. I think some of her acquaintances/friends think he is guilty of something, though they are not sure what.

OK, I am full of info tonight. I checked out Cody Pruett, who claims to be in a relationship with Milton Rodriquez, a racehorse owner, although he indicates he is interested in Women. Could just be kidding around with his FB page. Cody is a blacksmith for race horses, which matches up with Kortne's RIP to a jockey who died in 2011. It is on her FB page. That could be how she met him.
BF seems to be a non-player in her disappearance. I can 't find his name.
