Human remains found in December at the Cecil Commerce Center have been positively identified as Tina Marie McQuaig, a Jacksonville woman missing since March 2000, police said today. DNA testing confirmed the body was McQuaig, Lt. Rick Graham of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said today at a press conference. The Duval County Medical Examiner's Office has declared McQuaig's death a homicide, saying she died under violent circumstances, Graham said. No suspects have been arrested but police have a few good leads, Graham said. McQuaig was married with a 4-year-old son when she disappeared March 15, 2000, after leaving her pharmacy job at Shands Jacksonville hospital. Her husband, Ottis McQuaig, reported her missing. Although her 1992 Nissan Sentra was found a few days later at a Wal-Mart on Normandy Boulevard, it left no clues in the case that baffled detectives and stunned family members. A surveying crew found the remains Dec. 26. Although police said at the time the remains might be McQuaig's they wanted to wait for positive identification through DNA testing done by the University of Florida's anthropology department. jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/031003/new_11963604.shtmlAttachments:
